Greetings all -
Yesterday evening (9th), Gabe Leidy reported NO Cinnamon Teal present at the Lorain impoundment mudflats. I have not heard a positive report on the teal since the 7th, when it was still seen in the company of Blue-wings, observed by many folks from noon that day till the evening. A birding group will be at Lorain tomorrow, the 11th, in the mid-afternoon, and I will surely report what we see there. If you go in search of the Cinnamon, keep in mind that it can be a very tricky bird to locate, as often the duck flocks stick very, very close to the phragmite stands and mudflat edges. Again, on the 7th, the bird was not seen by many folks in the morning, only then to turn up around noon and intermittently show through the afternoon and till evening.
Good luck - Jen
