Hi all:

The OOS is proud to bring ABAšs Drew Wheelan to our conference on October
9th. We are inviting you to join us for the conference, but if you are
unable to attend the entire weekendšs festivities, you can now sign up for
Drewšs Saturday night presentation.

Drew will present a first-hand account of the effects of the disaster in the
Gulf on birds and bird habitat, and subsequent efforts to clean it up. He
will also examine wildlife response efforts and behind-the-scenes politics,
including rehabilitation and recovery efforts. The confounding role of
corporate and governmental oversight, as well as the exclusion of a willing
volunteer force will be discussed: recommendations to prepare for and deal
with likely future environmental disasters will be presented. Drew has taken
thousands of images of the spill, as well as many hours of video, which he
will also feature in this special keynote presentation. Read Drewšs blog at:

The ABAšs Gulf Coast Conservation Coordinator, stationed at Grand Isle, La.
since May 17, 2010, Drew has risen to national prominence for his truthful,
often disturbing, reporting on the British Petroleum (BP) oil gusher.

Please visit our website www.ohiobirds.org for further details. Click on
the link under the announcement of our 6th Annual Conference.

We hope to see you there!
