A lovely white-rumped sandpiper decided to join the Bairds and other shorebirds just off the boardwalk at the north end of Hoover Reservoir (n of Columbus). The shorebirding was amazing- can't believe I was the only birder out there (everyone else must be jaeger hunting up north :-)
The wind kept shifting the flocks and it seemed every ten minutes brought something new (I'd look up from my scope to realize a flock of semi-palms just landed, to be soon replaced by dowitchers- really fun!). Anyway, the white-rumped looked to be an adult in partial molt (still had sharp looking fine streaks extending to the undertail coverts, but the head and breast was grayer).

Hope everyone is enjoying the fine birding weather!
Heather
