Beautiful morning @ Sandy Ridge - felt like spring with all the birds and
great temp. Sightings were:
Red-winged blackbirds-many
Rusty Blackbirds
Starlings
Am Robin
Blue Jay
White-crowned sparrows
Song sparrows
Swamp sparrow
Unidentified sparrow w/yellow on face, light belly, some streaks
Am Goldfinches
Cardinals
Downy Woodpecker
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Wood Duck
Mallards
Canada Geese
Green-winged teal
Pied-billed grebe-2
Am Coots
Dbl-crested cormorant
Bald eagle-did fly over, grabbed tree branch in talons & flew off w/it
Great Egrets
Great Blue Heron-caught frog & swallowed it
Yellow-rumped warblers
Common yellowthroat
Tree swallows-many
Chimney swifts-flock of 75+
Unidentified wren on woodland trail
Eastern bluebirds-3
