It is presently 3:20PM at the Conneaut Sandspit in Ashtabula County. Highlight is an adult female Surf Scoter, easily seen from the end of Broad Street, the road that runs ajacent to and thru the marina yacht club. We have been here since 12:30PM. Other noteworthy birds seen from The Sandspit are 4 Redheads (2 male, 2 female), 3 Sanderlings (1 with a bum leg), 7 Dunlins, 4 Bald Eagles, and the usual 4 gull species (Bonaparte's, Ring-billed, Herring, Great Black-backed). At the Platform Lagoon are Pied-billed Grebe, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Gadwall, Green-winged Teal, Ruddy Duck, and American Coot. A beautiful Day!
