Mosquito L. continues to host hundreds of puddle ducks.  The Hoagland-Blackstub Rd. pulloff on the NW shore remains the best single spot for waterfowl and shorebird viewing.  Wildlife Area ponds and cornstubble fields and of course the causeway are also worth checking.  Mahan-Denman Rd. was pretty good for passerines.  Today's highlights: wood duck, 200 gadwalls, 50 Am. wigeon, 20 Am. black ducks, n. shovelers, n. pintails, 50 green-winged teal, hooded mergansers, 20 ruddy ducks, 25 great blue herons, 9 wild turkeys, bald eagle, Cooper's hawk, 50 Am. coots, killdeers, 11 greater yellowlegs, 4 lesser yellowlegs, 3 pectoral sandpipers, 9 dunlin, 30 Bonaparte's gulls, belted kingfisher, golden-crowned kinglet, 8 e. bluebirds, Am. robins, 15 cedar waxwings, yellow-rumped warbler, song sparrows, 15 white-crowned sparrows, many red-winged blackbirds, and Am. goldfinches.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
