I was at Conneaut harbor from 7:45 AM until around 4:00 PM today.  A number of other birders came and went during the day, we all had good looks at good birds and felt the COLD north wind.  The highlights were: juv. brant, gadwalls, Am. wigeon, n. shovelers, n. pintail, 8 green-winged teal, female surf scoter, common merganser, pied-billed grebe, 115 double-crested cormorants (moving west), 4 juv. black-crowned night-herons, 3 bald eagles, merlin (paused briefly then kept going east), Am. coot, killdeers, 2 sanderlings, 2 dunlin, red phalarope (first-winter type plumage, note the pale legs when it feeds on shore), 75 Bonaparte's gulls, and great black-backed gull.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
