Last Wednesday I was driving north on route 23 just a mile or two north of the Ohio-Michigan border when I spotted
a massive flock of turkey vultures. Some were in kettles but most others were gliding south in straight lines. I drove
for 8 miles before the end of this flock. A few hundred more birds were following along in smaller flocks until I passed Cabela's.
 They must have been avoiding Lake Erie. I can't begin to count how many there were.
