Greetings,
It's been a very good day for early morning yard birding here in
Wakeman, Lorain County. A flock of 15+ cedar waxwings have been in
the treetops foraging on rosehips and wild grapes. A bluebird came to
the suet feeder and stayed long enough for a good look. It later
retired to the wild grape vines where it was joined by others. While
standing in the window upstairs a yellow rump warbler flittered to
the railing of the deck, foraged among the remnants of the baskets
then flew to the window just inches from my face. An awesome
experience. I suppose it saw it's reflection in the glass. Luckily it
did not hit. Juncos have appeared as have white throated sparrows..
It's been a delight on this overcast rainy morning.
I still have my hummingbird feeders up just in case.
