We get a lot of questions this time of year about the road being closed
due to the Waterfowl Hunt.
So I thought I would repeat that information. The road is closed now
until Nov.13th at noon. It is open on Saturdays after 12:30 pm and open
all day on Sundays. Then it will be closed again for the second half of
the waterfowl season from Nov. 20 to Dec. 3. In addition it will be
closed Nov. 21 for the controlled youth deer hunt. The Bird Center,
observation tower, and the Walking Trails remain open.
There are birds here, and this time of year you never know what will
show up! Sunday I had a mockingbird and a northern harrier.

Second thing, this time of year many of us start to think of birding
somewhere warm in the winter. I am signed up to go to the Galapagos in
February, but the trip is in danger of being cancelled unless four more
people sign up!! If you would like to go, email me directly and I can
give you more details.

Happy Birding
