Larry Jeanblanc, Julie Karlson, and I were checking out the lake at Buck
Creek State Park this morning after the fog lifted. There were a few ducks
including Bufflehead, Ruddy Ducks, Redheads, Lesser Scaup, Hooded
Mergansers, Mallards, and American Black Ducks on the lake. Bonaparte's
Gulls were flying over the lake. There were several Pied-billed and Horned
Grebes and we counted about 70 Common Loons. We were looking from the
overlook which is below the Corps of Engineers visitor center on the west
side of the lake. Along the lakeshore we found a flock of goldfinches and a
few Pine Siskins.
Please note that I have a new email address.
