You won’t want to miss an exciting program on the Common Loon, which serves
for many as the voice of the wilderness (even though we see them in the
Cleveland area!). Ross and RoseAnn Powers of the Michigan Loon Preservation
Association (MLPA) will present, and they’ll be bringing Loon merchandise
the sale of which assists the MLPA’s education and advocacy efforts.

This presentation is a part of the monthly Kirtland Bird Club meeting.

All KBC monthly meetings take place at 7:30 pm at the Cleveland Museum of
Natural History (1 Wade Oval Dr, Cleveland) in the downstairs classroom.
Admission is free; parking is free for KBC members (you can join at the
meeting or online at the KBC Web site) so bring your parking ticket in to be
stamped.

For more information on KBC member van trips, meetings, membership,
volunteer opportunities, or resources (including the authoritative book
“Birds of the Cleveland Region”) please see
http://www.kirtlandbirdclub.org/default1.htm

The Loon merchandise could make a great holiday gift, as would a copy of
“Birds of the Cleveland Region” (which not only includes vital information
on when one can see various bird species in the Cleveland area, but the
habitat in which they occur and notes on various parks where the species
reside. It also has wonderful seasonal information with lists of birds that
may appear in each month, and has a great guide to birding locations in the
7-county Cleveland area).

Hope to see you at the meeting!

Scott VanValkenburg, KBC President
