I visited Evans L. and Pine L. in E Mahoning Co. today.  Lots of waterbirds around.  Evans L. had 10 gadwalls, 10 Am. black ducks, 7 lesser scaup, 60 buffleheads, 5 red-breasted mergansers, 35 ruddy ducks, 6 common loons, pied-billed grebe, 1600 ring-billed gulls, 100+ herring gulls, and the ad. LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL.  Pine L. featured 25 tundra swans, 25 green-winged teal, 20 ring-necked ducks, 3 BLACK SCOTERS, 13 buffleheads, 4 c. goldeneyes, 50 hooded mergansers, 150 ruddy ducks, 6 common loons, 3 horned grebes, 4 pied-billed grebes, double-crested cormorant, Am. kestrel, Am. coots, 100+ ring-billed gulls, n. flicker, 2 golden-crowned kinglets, n. mockingbird, and white-crowned sparrow.  In Coitsville Twp. (also E Mahoning Co.) boring little King's L. held a bufflehead and 2 hooded mergansers, and 500+ Am. crows were seen in late afternoon.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
