Tundra swans, about forty five, were at bright, sunny Ladue Reservoir
this
afternoon. Most were way off on the shore by the dam, but four were
very
close, right on the beach by the road.

The only ducks I could find were a dozen hooded mergansers. Also four
loons. Common loons.

A bald eagle was on the beach, eating a freshly caught carp and
attended by three eager but
respectful crows.

Eight or so bonaparte's gulls were on on the sand bar along with the
ringed bills.
