A couple others and I birded at Buck Creek State Park in Clark County this
weekend and had a few interesting sightings. On Saturday there were 9 Tundra
Swans near the dam but they soon left. Also an adult Bald Eagle flew by the
beach. On Sunday there was a Baird's Sandpiper on the beach. A Red-throated
Loon was near the south end of the lake but unfortunately soon after we
found it, it flew off and appeared to leave the lake. The mudflats at the
north end of the lake are still attracting a few birds. Killdeer, Dunlins,
and Wilson's Snipe were seen and a couple American Pipits also fed there.
