As a birder/hunter/trapper/fisherman, I don't understand the animosity
between birders and hunters. Hunters have paid the bill so to say in
regards to conservation. The wildlife areas that we enjoy were purchased
with hunting and fishing license revenue. No sales tax, income tax or tax
levies have been used to fund ODW. So with that being said, is it time for
birders and other outdoor enthusiast to step up to the plate? How about
thanking a hunter and then making a donation to ODW. As far as birding
goes, I had a short-eared owl and seven harriers at Big Island Sunday.
