Tammy and I went up to check out the Short-eared Owls and were handsomely
rewarded with both Owls and Harriers. Tammy saw an Owl/Harrier
confrontation with the Owl knocking the prey out of the Harrier's grasp
and catching it in midair as it fell to the ground. She is a new birder
and I, of course, was looking at the exact opposite field and missed it.

We also saw a flock of 6 Eastern? Meadowlarks at the observation deck on
St Rt 95. This was exciting as I didn't see a one this spring or summer.
All and all a great afternoon of birding.
