Is anyone from Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, or anywhere even tangentially close to this route going out to chase this bird?

It is really poor weather in Summit County right now. Yet I may be willing to go if anyone would like to car pool.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Special RBA: Empid sp.!!!

Birders,

Yesterday, on the Cincinnati birds sightings page, Jason and Neill Cade

reported an Empid sp. that they "couldn't nail down an ID" (can't blame

'em!). The bird was reported on the Silver Creek property at Mitchell

Memorial Forest in Cleves. If this bird really is an Empid, then there is a

high probability that it is a Dusky, Gray, Pacific Slope/Cordilleran, or

Hammond's Flycatcher. There was a strong western front that moved in with

the current storm, making one of these western species all the more likely!

I've been emailing the Cades to get more info on the bird and its location,

but haven't heard back yet. I'll keep you updated. I *HIGHLY ENCOURAGE*

anyone to go photograph this bird! We may have a first state record on our

hands, if not a MEGA rarity.

Good birding,

Sean
