Hi All,
So I took a look out the window toward the feeders and noticed that there
were almost no customers, and even more striking, the two House Sparrows in
sight were absolutely frozen on bare branches of a shrub. ³Must be a raptor
in the area,² I thoughtand at that moment a large (presumably female)
Cooperıs Hawk landed on the very branch of the red maple from which a couple
of feeders hang. The hawk took a look around and left after just a few
seconds.
Cooperıs Hawks are certainly not uncommon around here, but this was a
particularly good look, just a few feet away.
Best wishes and Happy New Year to all,
Steve Cagan
