I was out of town this morning and got back to my house in North Perry in
the early afternoon. Around 2:00 the gulls started moving west on the open
water beyond the ice. The ice was out about a half mile. It seems the
majority of gulls were ring-billed gulls with some herring and great
black-backed gulls. The only different big gull was an adult lesser
black-backed gull. I also had quite a few Bonaparte's gulls heading west.
I'm guessing I had about 400 birds. Mixed in was a single adult LITTLE
GULL. I saw no waterfowl. Everything was heading west so they may be
showing up at the hot water outlets or Fairport Harbor tomorrow.
