I stopped by Mentor Lagoons today around 4pm in search of the Common Redpolls that have been
reported. I walked up the main trail all the way up to the lake around the alders. I waited a little while
to see something, but it seemed devoid of birds. Finally a Cooper's Hawk flew up and landed on a
tree for a little while. The raptor then flew off and after about 2 minutes, a flock of about 45
COMMON REDPOLLS flew up to a tree, but only stuck around for about 5 minutes. I first identified
them by their sharp trilling noise they make.

Good Birding,
