Those of you on Facebook will have noted my announcement that my son Hugh is
once again in the Antarctic. Hugh's employers, the Cornell Laboratory of
Ornithology, have loaned him out to the Rutgers University Coastal Ocean
Observation Laboratory (RU COOL) to blog about their voyage across the Ross
Sea investigating the reasons for the incredible productivity of this area.
Hugh is once again teamed with photographer Chris Lindner to produce
materials for elementary schools about Antarctica and how science is done
down there. For those of you who are not on Facebook, you can follow the
progress of the RU COOL at

http://coseenow.net/ross-sea/

Hugh reports his first sighting on landing at McMurdo Sound was South Polar
Skua.

Cheers,

Bob
