Guests welcome!

Please join us in the City of Delaware at the Ohio Wesleyan University,
Schimmel- Conrades Science Center, Room 163 lower level. Conversation and
refreshments begin at 7:00 pm; the meetings and programs start at 7:30 pm.
Parking is available next to the Selby Stadium on the east side of Henry
Street and in the lot south of the Science Center next to Branch Rickey
Arena.

January 24: Sean Williams: "A Student's Perspective of the Birds of Ohio
Wesleyan". Sean is a senior zoology major at Ohio Wesleyan University. He
grew up in South Boston, MA where he found his passion for birds. He plans
to obtain his Ph.D. in zoology, teach ornithology and continue his studies
of birds. He spends his free time birding, of course! Sean says, at first
glance, the Ohio Wesleyan campus and Delaware town area seem rather desolate
in avian fauna. However, there are many small patches of habitat that can
attract migrants because of the habitat's isolation. He has recorded over
200 species in the area in his three and a half years at OWU. Sean will
detail twenty to twenty-five of his strangest (ok exciting) sightings.

In case you want to join us for future programs:

February 28: Tom Bain: "Biogeology: Bedrock of Biological Distribution in
Ohio". Like your new DCBC newsletter editor, Tom is a geologist (OSU alum)
with a minor in zoology

March 28: Dick Tuttle: "EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
KESTRELS BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK"

April 25: Barbara Revard, Columbus Zoo: Barbara will talk about her trip to
Churchill, Manitoba, Canada to study polar bears for Polar Bears
International.
