Shamus Terry ([log in to unmask]) is the product manager for Vortex and
is more than willing to talk with you about his products. He does an annual
trip to the Cleveland MetroParks Rocky River Nature Center at the end of
April to display his optics offerings. I contacted him via email when
searching for new binoculars and ultimately decided on Vortex Vipers in 8 x
42. They have been a pleasure to use and the best, in my opinion, in the
$500 range. Shamus is very helpful but not at all pushy. He may also be
able to guide you to a vendor near you who handles the spotting scope so you
can try it.

The binoculars have a lifetime replacement warranty regardless how they are
damaged. You might ask about the spotting scope warranty.

P.S. Time and Optics in Millersburg, OH handles Vortex binoculars but I
don't know if they have spotting scopes.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Spotting Scope Recommendation

Hello, does anyone have any experience with the Vortex Nomad 20-60 x 60
Angled Spotting Scope or just Vortex brand Spotting Scopes. Of so, would you
please let me know if they are good spotting scopes.
