Found the Long-eared Owl this morning at his usual spot in a pine
right near the entrance. Fairly skittish bird flushed & flew right
behind me back into another pine so I quietly left so as not to spook
him further. On the pond in the small opening were Ring-necked Ducks,
Mallards, Gadwall, Black Ducks, & Green-winged Teal. The Harriers were
out prowling the fields (1 male, 3 females). Found 1 Kestrel & 6
Bluebirds sitting on the telephone wire. Also a flock of 20 Tree
Sparrows. At nearby Miami Whitewater Park found a Rough-legged Hawk
hunting a field on Dry Fork Rd.
