This afternoon my husband and I went to Chagrin River Park for about an hour
and observed an adult bald eagle flying overhead by the river. Also saw 3
cranes (far off, not sure what kind) flying, also 3 Canadian geese flew
overhead. Later, down the river, we hit a stretch of open water and saw 7
Mallard ducks, male and female. Also saw 3 male and 2 female cardinals, 2
chickadees, 1 red-bellied sapsucker, 1 downy woodpecker and 1 male and 1
female robin.
Also, on Friday January 28, at North Chagrin Reservation in Willoughby, saw
3 pileated woodpeckers that were all very vocal with each other. First time
I've seen pileated in several years. Glad they were loud because they were
fairly far away from me.
