I birded at Buck Creek State Park this morning. There were thousands of
birds on the lake. At the north end of the lake I found a couple thousand
Canada Geese and in with them were 28 Greater White-fronted Geese. There
were also several species of ducks. Ducks were scattered around the lake.
From the Corps of Engineers visitor center at the southwest portion of the
lake I found a Long-tailed Duck and a couple Greater Scaup. There were
hundreds of other ducks including Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked Ducks, Redheads,
a few Canvasbacks, Hooded and Red-breasted Mergansers, Common Goldeneye,
Buffleheads, Mallards, American Black Ducks, American Wigeon, and Gadwalls.
I also saw a Pied-billed Grebe and a couple Horned Grebes.
