Driving south on Rt. 3 just past Amity, OH, on the east side of the road,
were scores of vultures in the fields about 100 yards off the road. I
turned around and parked in a farmers drive (Rt 3 is very busy with no place
to stop) and started counting, stopping at approximately 60, both Turkey and
Black. There were probably more but several were flying around (definitely
Black Vultures) as they moved from one carcass to another. Some were
perched in trees and some on the ground. Others were on fence posts.

There appeared to be two or three animal carcasses in the field. Could have
been cattle or deer but whatever they were they really attracted a lot of
birds.

This was as close as I have come to living an Alfred Hitchcock moment!
