The large numbers and diversity of waterfowl reported here recently continue
to be present. I spent most of my two hours scoping the reservoir. The
majority of the birds were concentrated in two alcoves, at the southwest and
northeast "corners" of the reservoir, with many also scattered at the
eastern end, near the dam. Due to my short time-frame, numbers are very
rough estimates. I found:

Canada Goose - 100+/-

Am. Wigeon - <20

Am. Black Duck - <10

Mallard - 50+/-

N. Pintail - <10

Green-winged Teal - 1

Canvasback - XXX

Redhead - XXX

Ring-necked Duck - XXX

Greater Scaup - at least 5, probably more

Lesser Scaup - XXX

Bufflehead - ~10

Common Goldeneye - 4

Hooded Merganser - XX

Red-breasted Merganser - XXX

Common Merganser - 7

Ruddy Duck - 3

Am. Coot - <10

Ring-billed Gull - XX-XXX

I briefly scoped the Dick Road wetlands, which contained many of the same
species, with higher proportions of Ring-necks, Mallards, & Canada Goose.
In addition, there were 4 Wood Ducks.

The biggest treat of the morning was 6 TUNDRA SWANS in a flooded field on
Mouser Road (at the east end of Dick Road).

Happy Birding!
