February 28: Tom Bain: Biogeology: Bedrock of Biological Distribution in
Ohio". Like your new DCBC newsletter editor, Tom is a geologist (OSU alum).
He has assisted research from Greenland (Peregrine Falcon banding and
glaciology) to Antarctica (ice dynamics and stratigraphy). Currently, Tom
serves as Bird Conservation Chair, Ohio Ornithological Society. His "best
bird" is a South Polar Skua found at South Pole Station, Antarctica - he
says he's not crazy, that there are several published accounts! Tom is a
Delaware resident and currently works as a consultant for private, agency,
and non-profit groups evaluating properties, pursuing grants and developing
and restoring natural areas and also offers private and commercial
consulting and field services that promote ecologically-considerate living.

Thank you,

Darlene Sillick
