Ohio birders,

Most birders are pretty well connected these days between the list-serv and various websites. Phone hotlines may be a dying breed for sure but they aren't quite dead yet. The NW Ohio Rare Bird Alert has been out of commission for an extended time due to problems with AT&T, and our inability to find something that satisfied our group.

Today marks the first day of the new NW Ohio phone hotline.

The phone number is 641-715-3800. Punch in access code 86701# and you're in business.

We're (Toledo Naturalists' Association) looking into making it a toll free 800 number, but for now, the 641 number lives.

Would someone please be so kind as to pass this message along to our Amish friends? They were avid callers and I know they'll be interested in this news.

Thanks,

Greg Links
