Greetings,

With the snow, ice and high winds we made an effort to make sure the feeders were kept full along with fresh water. We were rewarded with a multitude of wonderful birds which included a Towhee. On the suet feeder we had Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers and a Flicker within moments of refilling the plugs. Pine siskins continue to populate the thistle feeder along with white throated sparrows, gold finches, house finches and purple finches. A female Purple Finch showed up today. Front feeders are full of black oiled sunflower seeds and are frequented by titmice, juncos, chickadees and nuthatches. The final crabapples have been attacked by starlings, who also attempt to get to the suet feeder. Fortunately the Hairy Woodpecker tends to keep them at bay. A wild bird mix is provided for them as well as other ground feeders in a sheltered spot on the lower deck.

In spite of the wind and snow, horned larks and snow buntings are at the intersection of Baird Road and Becker .
Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.

Happy Birding,
