Went down to Headlands around 1:30pm for a couple of hours. Good variety of ducks ( 11 species ). Northern Pintail, Gadwall, , Redhead, American Wigeon, Ruddy Duck, Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, Red-breasted Merganser, Mallards, Lesser Scaup. Ruddies, Ring-necks and Buffleheads were the most numerous. One Horned Grebe, D-C Cormorants, Cooper's Hawk, Eastern Towhee, Bluebirds just to name a few. It was so good to hear the Robins, Song Sparrows (many) and Killdeers; Spring has to be around the corner!
Sally Isacco, Chardon
