Just another word on the Royal Tern today at Hoover Reservoir, Westerville OH, Franklin Co. I'm quite convinced (though I'm no expert on terns outside the US) that it is indeed a Royal tern, after many excellent views and photos were obtained today by multiple observers. The bird seems to like to hang around the dam and that end of the reservoir, though it often patrols the eastern shoreline for many minutes at a time, it makes the return to the dam, where from 7-10am it made 5 appearances/flyovers. Then it obliged viewers quite nicely by landing on one of the light posts that go out on a small peninsula just to the north of the floating boat docks by the dam (western shore). The field marks were agreed upon to be good for ROYT by many experienced observers including Greg Miller, Jay Lehman, Jerry Talkington, Dave Slager, Dan Sanders, Doreen Linzell, Jim McCormac, and many others (those listed, sorry if I mis-spelled your names). In anycase it was good seeing all those birder friends. I hope it stays around for further sightings. I'll post a photo link later once I get them up.

Good Birding,
- Ben Warner
