The American Woodcocks in our small wetland put on a show again tonight.
Linda and I got out before scheduled takeoff and at 6:51 PM they were up and
flying. The flights were preceded by their buzzy calls resembling a Common
Nighthawk. Then their chirping as they would decent. I always find it
interesting that they made the sound with their wings. I would estimate there
were about 8 woodcock displaying.
