Just a quick email to say that Big Island is awash in waterfowl activity.

Geese...well, lets just say that they are well represented! :-D WAY to many to count.

Ducks are flying all around with Pintails, Shovelers, & Mallards being the easy ones to spot...because they are everywhere. I had a Grouping of 100-150 Shovelers fly overhead, just wave upon wave.

Coots and Pied-billed Grebes were present in ons and twos, and a half dozen Hooded Mergansers finished the quick scan that I took.

Also the noise of the starlings, and black birds, was just astounding and deafening I would imagine to the caretaker.

Raptors were abundant. No owls, but rough-legs were prevalent. followed by red-tailed and kestrels.

Time to go to work.:-D

Steve
