For the last week a fox sparrow has been in my SW Columbus neighborhood - a new yard bird for both my yard and another local birder with a yard list. This fox sparrow is not the typical eastern color I have previously seen in central Ohio, but is more similar to the interior/tiagra X rocky mountain bird pictured in Sibleys. Perhaps a cross between an eastern and an interior bird? It is a little more rufous than the book picture, but is much more interior looking than eastern. My neighbor got decent pics - hopefully she will remember to email one to me or I will get a pic if it is stilll around this weekend.
