I started at Oberlin Reservoir. Highlights included 3 C. loons, a Bald 
eagle and a pair of Horned Grebes.

From there I visited the Wellington Upground Reservoir. The lake had good 
numbers of birds, with the highlights being 3 Surf Scoters , a half dozen or so 
C, Loons, and 30 plus Horned Grebes, showing a 

nice variety of plumage, from basic to full breeding. The male Scoter was 
fantastic looking, and a couple of Loons got in close and to the west for some 
great looks in the early morning light.

A drive down to Funk Bottoms yielded great numbers of the usual species, with 
Blue-Wing Teal as the highlight. The observation deck at Funk was barely above 
water. I also checked Wilderness Rd. south of Funk and had 13 species, including 
A. Wigeons, Blue and Greeen Winged teal, N. Shovelers, and Pintails as 
highlights. Schwartzwalder Rd. yielded fewer spcies than Wilderness Rd. Both of 
these roads looked like they could only be accessed from Funk Rd. due to the 
high water.

A quick stop at Shreve Lake produced another C. Loon, a lone Bonaparte's Gull, 
and several D. C. Cormorants.

Frome Shreve, I stopped at Cemetery Rd. (just off Rt 226). There were lots of 
divers there including many 

Ring-necked Ducks as well as a Sandhill Crane.

The final stop was Lake Medina where I was treated to more good looks at Horned 
Grebes, Hooded Mergansers, and another C. Loon.

All in all, a nice day out with lots of great waterfowl.
