SE Owls- We had 7 SE Owls three Sundays ago north of New Athens. I(or more
precisely, my dogs) flushed one today from an area I had never hiked
before. This area has perfect habitat for nesting if they should decide to
stay. There were enough present this winter that it should be on OBBA'ers
radar to look for potential nesting activity over the next 1.5 months
where owls were consistently found this winter.
No. Harriers- We still have at least 3 Harriers in the county near the
airport- 2 females and a male.
Rough-legged hawk last seen 3/28.
