On a tip from Craig Holt about a pair of Surf Scoters at Evans Lake, we arrived at 6PM to immediately find, to our astonishment, two American White Pelicans in the middle of the lake. Shortly after, we were also able to find our target birds, the Surf Scoters, sleeping in the middle of the lake with an abundance of waterfowl; species and numbers. The location is the end of Calla Road off of SR164, on the northwest side of the lake.
