11:00 today   48*, but chilly - 
winds out of SOUTH means
mass evacuation! - bay is VERY calm
 
From launch out into bay
Bufflehaed - 3
Lesser Scaup - 2
Wood Duck - 2
Mallard - 4
Great Crested Cormorants - 11
Red-breasted Mergansers  - 8
Ring-billed Gulls - 30+
Red-tailed Hawk - 1 (fly over to scare off gulls + bay)
Turkey Vulture - 1
 
11:20 @ west side of Inner City Yacht Club
These birds were seen walking out on the breakwall
Horned Grebe - 1American Coot - 1
Great Blue Heron - 1
Canada Goose - 6 (2 on nests for over a week now)
Gulls (flying/swimming/on docks/posts)
     30+
     20-ish Ring-billed
     8-ish Herring
     @ 11:30 
Great Blue Herons - 13 flew in from the east to Dike 13
 
 
11:40 looking to open water
RBM - 4
GCCs - 25+
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 1
Caspian Tern - 1 (fly by)
 
@ 11:50
a LARGE "kettle" of Turkey Vultures circled in from 
south of the freeway heading NW - 
32 were counted in the thermal - 
about 5 minutes later, another group of 17 followed
 
as we were departing 2 "lines" of GCCs
flew from east to west   -   
the first had 18, the second has 22
 
 
On a note not to do with Gordon Park - 
my tube feeder of hulled sunflower seed
just off of my deck in Gates Mills hosted
17 Redpolls  in the early afternoon today!
