A pair of long-eared owls were in the brush and trees along the path to
the fishing pier at Headlands Beach state nature preserve. They were not
very far along the path. At least a dozen birders watched them, thanks to
spotting by area experts.
Also seen were flickers, thrashers, sparrows (field, song, fox), phoebe,
YR warblers, TVs, Cooper's hawk, kestral, kinglets, blue-headed vireo,
Ruddy ducks, Bonaparte gulls, and an odd crow, possibly Fish.
A dozen siskins and a lone common redpoll persist at my Chardon feeders.
Good birding,
Marilyn Rohr
