10 common loons were just north of the Leatherlips yacht club just off 
Shawnee Hills.  I couldn't find a way to get down to the waters edge in 
Shawnee Hills but I had nice views of them from Areas C and D off route 
257 and Area T off route 745 and Goode Rd.  At Area L there was a raft of 
11 red-breasted mergansers and flyovers by a few bonapartes gulls.  Double 
crested cormorants numbered in the hundreds from the dam all the way up to 
the bridge at route 42.  Three American coots put in appearances at the 
dam.
