David Sibley recently shared his view of the use of recordings to attract
birds. He asserted (among many other more important matters) that playback
through powered speakers is largely unnecessary. I gave it a try this
morning at Spring Valley and got two Virginia Rails and three Soras to
respond to my unaided iPhone.
