I found some raptors moving north today in Medina County, despite the
winds being more easterly than southerly.  Waiting at the supermarket
traffic light, I lazily watched a "gull" flying toward me, when I
realized it was no gull, but an Osprey!

Earlier while driving, I had stopped to watch a hawk flying north near
the eagle nest I had been monitoring. (Two eaglets were confirmed
today!) I couldn't get the hawk in my binoculars from inside the car
but I was so struck by its deep, floppy wing beat as it kettled
upward--so like a short-eared owl, but with the shape of a hawk with a
long tail.  I was watching its flight so closely that I didn't really
note the wing shape.  Was this likely a harrier?  Any other ideas?

Saw several red-tailed hawks and a broad-winged hawk, as well.
