David Slager and I spent the morning looking for any migrants that
came in with the recent front, starting at the capitol building then
heading to Three Creeks after a brief stop at Goodale Park. We
stopped at "Cruiser Park" on our way back (map: http://goo.gl/qbYUp )
looking for the Ross's Goose (not found) and after I dropped Dave off
at his place, I made a "quick" stop by the OSU wetlands on my way
home. Highlights below, and a few photos (Prairie, Orange-crowned and
B&W Warblers) at http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljhurtado/

The state house was surprisingly productive: Gray Catbird, House Wren,
Peregrine Falcon, Field, Chipping, and WT Sparrows, and the 5 species
of warbler:
 1 Tennessee Warbler (Oreothlypis peregrina)
 1 Black-and-white Warbler (Mniotilta varia)
 1 Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla)
 1 Louisiana Waterthrush (Parkesia motacilla)
 1 Common Yellowthroat (Geothlypis trichas)

Three Creeks MP held some nice birds, including...
 1 Green Heron (Butorides virescens)
 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) – There was a 2nd
at the OSU Wetlands
 2 Eastern Kingbird (Tyrannus tyrannus)
1 White-eyed Vireo (Vireo griseus) – There was a 2nd at Cruiser Park
 1 Blue-headed Vireo (Vireo solitarius)
 2 Warbling Vireo (Vireo gilvus)
 2 Scarlet Tanager (Piranga olivacea) – 1m, 1f
4 Orchard Oriole (Icterus spurius) – flock of adult males
2 Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula) – “flock” of adult males

Three Creeks MP Warblers:
 1 Nashville Warbler (Oreothlypis ruficapilla)
 3 Northern Parula (Parula americana)
 4+ Yellow Warbler (Dendroica petechia)
 1 Magnolia Warbler (Dendroica magnolia)
 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler (Dendroica coronata)
5 Black-throated Green Warbler (Dendroica virens)
 1 Blackburnian Warbler (Dendroica fusca)
 4 Yellow-throated Warbler (Dendroica dominica)
3 Pine Warbler (Dendroica pinus) – (2 bright, 1 dull)
 3 W. Palm Warbler (Dendroica p. palmarum)
 1 Black-and-white Warbler (Mniotilta varia)
 4 Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla)
 3 Common Yellowthroat (Geothlypis trichas)
 2 Hooded Warbler (Wilsonia citrina)

Cruiser Park, north edge of the wetlands:
1 Prairie Warbler (Dendroica discolor) – photo at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljhurtado/5650864367/
 10 Yellow-rumped Warbler (Dendroica coronata)
 1 W. Palm Warbler (Dendroica p. palmarum)

The OSU Wetlands were pleasant, but quite. New arrivals include a
male Ruby-throated Humming bird
(http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljhurtado/5650863713/) and an
Orange-crowned Warbler.

OSU Wetlands Warblers:
 1 Orange-crowned Warbler (Oreothlypis celata) -- 3 photos at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljhurtado/5651429142/
 3 Yellow Warbler (Dendroica petechia)
 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler (Dendroica coronata)
1 Black-throated Green Warbler (Dendroica virens)
1 Black-and-white Warbler (Mniotilta varia) -- photo at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljhurtado/5651429530/

Good birding,
Paul H.
