Subject: [Ohio-birds] Cuyahoga-mystery bird
Just saw a bird foraging in a treetop in downtown Cleveland that's got me
stumped - had binos but no camera! It was approx cardinal-sized, all
chocolate brown head which extended to the throat (like cowbirds), had a
gray-black conical beak, clean white breast which started below the brown
throat color, rufous flanks, a small white wing patch, gray-brown back,
white undertail with possible white edging. I've never seen a bird like
it - any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm googling; no field guide w/me.
Other than that, 3 hermit thrushes were chasing each other in the same
area.
