If you are thinking of coming out today, be advised that there is a
downed power line on State Rt. 2, east of Davis Besse Nuclear Power
Plant.
It is VERY WINDY here today. The manager is at the boardwalk now
checking for downed trees/braches.

I have not been down there yet and will not have a chance to get down
there until later this afternoon. Any birds that were here yesterday may
have moved on but maybe some new ones have blown in overnight. Many of
you have thanked us for the bird reports and we will continue to try to
keep you updated as the migration continues.

Many of you have probably heard of the new ID Guide by Richard Crossley.
I know my husband says I already have too many bird books, but I think I
am going to have to add one more. Richard Crossley will be here at
the Bird Center on May 13th from 1-4 pm to sign books. They will be
sold at a discounted price that day. On May 14th, at Osborn Park in
Erie County, Richard Crossley will be giving a talk at 7 pm "Past,
Present, and Future". There will be a book signing after the talk.
Again, the books will be offered at a reduced price. This is a free
event open to the public sponsored by Friends of Old Woman Creek and
Firelands Audubon Society. All of the details can be found at
www.firelandsaudubon.org
