I did receive a "friends confirmation" from this site. Yet I find I cannot
post a message and the site seems to go to a prof photographer.

I wonder!!!

Advice: do NOT do this until the Ohio list admin offers it as an
alternative!

I just did this. Hope to see y'all there. Be sure to watch for apostrophes -
none for this one! I have not received FB confirmation yet, but it looks
like a start.

It addresses a small part of what I suggested. I know many people are not
comfortable with FB - with good reason - because we never know how much info
they share! Yet on the other hand, a listserv is also public info so your
posts are accessible from UM-O - it just does not include your more private
info.

What I posed - that should be addressed- is that with cheap technology,
there is no reason for a birders listserv to be limited to 50 messages per
day.

FYI....
I created a Facebook site called "Ohio Birds" specifically for discussion of
sightings, locations, happenings, ect.
It is not meant to replace or interfere with the Ohio Birds List.....only to
allow comments and some discussion without tying up the list.
For those of us with smart phones, checking the Facebook page for sightings
is as easy, or easier, than e-mails.

If you're interested, search on Facebook for Ohio Birds, and feel free to
double post sightings there along with your list posts.
