I also am in Franklin County and am new to the Ohio Birds listserver as of last fall. I have seen many references to "area D", "area L", or similar references but have no idea where I can find out what locations these point to. I am totally familiar with "The Pit" etc at places like Greenlawn but last year was my "Year of the Duck" ...as it were. I had never spent time with ducks (except the ubiquitous mallards) before last year. Is there a web site or publication that lists these areas for the different reservoirs? I have noted some really nice sightings on the listserver at (for example) Hoover but am not sure how to locate the best areas. I am especially interested in areas where I can get as close as possible for photography.

Maps for birders of the local areas would be really nice to see that highlight the best areas to find water birds. Do any exist?

Thanks
Tim Hutson
